Session Abstract:

Join our team of “actors” for a fun filled 90 minutes learning about our experiences around Leadership coaching and Problem Solving!

What We’ll be Doing:

–        A light hearted, interactive, team based approach to demonstrate the affects of coaching on solving problems

–       We’ll use skits and real life examples of coaching obstacles we’ve experienced and potential solutions

–       Focusing on specific “pitfalls” that can occur while coaching through a PDCA process.

Facilitator Biographies:

Laura Murray is a Lean Transformation Coach at IBM’s Burlington, VT semiconductor manufacturing facility.  She has been with IBM since 1992 and has held positions in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, and most recently as a facilitator and coach for IBM’s lean transformation team.  She has also held positions that drove productivity improvements using Range Management, Supply Chain Plan vs. Actual,  and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.) applications and theories.

Laura is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and holds SME Lean Bronze and Six Sigma Green Belt certifications. She also uses Lean and TWI methods to aid several local and a national non-profit which support youth.

Chris Gillman is a member of the Senior Leadership team at IBM’s 200mm Semiconductor Manufacturing Line in Burlington, VT.  Chris’ responsibilities include leadership of the plant’s Lean Transformation core team as well as the team supporting the IT infrastructure that supports the manufacturing operations.  Chris has worked for IBM for 13 years, the last 7 in management, with responsibilities ranging from Manufacturing Engineering, Process Development, Procurement, Semiconductor Technology Development, Operations, and Quality within 3 different manufacturing lines at the Burlington site.  Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.

Ron Plouffe is a member of the Senior Leadership team at IBM’s 200MM Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility in Burlington, VT.    As the Manager of Production Operations, Ron is responsible for all aspects of the development and effective execution of production strategies.

During his 30 years with IBM, Ron has held a broad array of positions in support of IBM’s Semiconductor business including manufacturing, engineering, design and characterization.  Ron has been an early adopter and innovator in logistics methods and improvements for IBM.   In the 1990′s, he worked with IBM Consulting on the development and introduction of the “Range Management” production logistics methods into IBM fabricators in the U.S. and Europe.

In 2007 as the Operations Manager and Leader of the Lean Core Team for IBM’s Photomask Production Facility, Ron lead a multi-year effort in the  implementation of a Lean Production System.  He continues to actively coach and facilitate organizational transformations utilizing Lean methods and Management Systems.
