Session Title:

The Improvement Coach: Building Organization-Wide Improvement Capabilities, One Problem Solver at a Time

Facilitator:

Karen Martin

Session Abstract:

Coaching is a skill that all senior leaders, managers, and improvement facilitators must develop deep proficiency in. But the type of coaching needed to develop lasting improvement and problem-solving capabilities across the organization—the single most important skill set needed to accelerate and sustain transformation—is different from typical leadership coaching.

This full-day workshop will cover current thinking around adult learning and skill development, the steps needed to develop proficient coaches, the management and cultural shifts needed to support a learning environment, and how to create a plan for spreading coaching capabilities across the organization. Through role playing and interactive activities, participants will learn and practice effective coaching techniques they can begin applying right away. Participants will also create their own personal development plan for gaining coaching proficiency.
