Beyond Labels: Coaching as a Transformative Practice

Beyond Emancipation (B:E) helps ensure that transition-aged youth in the child welfare system have the support they need to successfully move into adulthood. B:E has begun to shift the youth services field through living and sharing our coaching model: Creative Connected Resourceful and Whole (CCRW). CCRW is built on the premise that when vulnerable youth identify, access, and cultivate their own voice and values, they achieve enduring success. CCRW offers an alternative to traditional, deficit-based service delivery and contributes to sustainable, positive outcomes for youth. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how coaching is impacting the lives of high-needs youth, experiment with CCRW coaching strategies, and consider how coaching can transform individuals, organizations, and communities.
Our CCRW model is a multi-faceted approach that incorporates coaching, permanency, youth development and crisis management. We gobeyond theories and models so we can work with our clients on a deeper level as well as coach them towards a life beyond the labels they have been given through systems and institutions. Antonia, Angely, Kamela and Paula will highlight the 6 Steps and 12 Skills of our CCRW model and allow participants to practice some of those skills with one another during the session.

Facilitator Bios:
Antonia Jackson is the Director of Coaching and Talent Management for Beyond Emancipation and has been a Certified Professional Coach through Leadership That Works since 2013.
Angely Miranda is the Transition Services Coordinator/Coach for Beyond Emancipation and has been a Certified Community Coach through Leadership That Works since 2016.
Kamela Stewart is the Community Housing Coordinator/Coach for Beyond Emancipation and has been a Certified Community Coach through Leadership That Works since 2016.
Paula Buck is the Operations/HR Manager/Coach for Beyond Emancipation and has been a Certified Community Coach through Leadership That Works since 2016. Leadership That Works is an accredited Coach Training Program through the International Coach Federation.
