Session description pending.
Mark Siwik
Mark
Siwik is co-founder and executive director of BeLikeCoach, a
national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the
teaching and development of youth through sports.
BeLikeCoach was formed when Siwik and a team of experts on
teaching and human development in schools, sports, and
business came together to determine whether a 1974-75
research study on Woodens coaching methods could be used in
youth sports. As the project unfolded, the team discovered
Jim Huntzinger's article The Root of Lean - TWI: The Origin
of Kaizen and noticed startling similarities between the
TWI methodology and Wooden's teaching methods.
Siwiks law and business career includes a federal
clerkship, partnership at a leading Ohio law firm, and
recognition for outstanding leadership at the national,
state, and local levels. His business career includes
working with senior management on a variety of risk
management issues and complex litigation. He also has worked
with the Vorkell Group, a consulting firm that works with
the legal and medical professions on management issues
including strategic planning, leadership, practice group
management, emotional intelligence, partner compensation,
associate development, mentoring and occupational stress.
