This learning session will explore the role of Business Leader as coach, leading training and directly developing the capabilities of the team.
We will explore the capability required for

- Embed people capability and development inside of daily work
Coaching to improve people, the process and the business.
This session will provide a practical approach to follow back at work as a leader or with leader’s you coach, to enable greater capability development inside of their daily work, building the capability of the Leader, the Coach and the people.
Karen has over 20 years’ experience leading, training, and coaching high-performance teams of staff and executives in rapid-growth environments.
As Team Leader, Operations and Personnel at LEI, Karen’s responsibilities include:
- Operations and HR leader for Lean Enterprise Institute
- Supporting Co-Learning Partners
- Managing and continue to strengthen LEI’s education curriculum and events
Karen had recently Authored the book “Steady Work” which tells the leaders story of implementing and spreading a Lean Operating system.
Previously to joining Lean enterprise Institute Karen held the role of Regional Director Operations with Starbucks out of the Northeast. Karen made recommendations on the creation of an operating system model line, then led the first application in a working store and provided feedback necessary for a broad, global implementation. She proceeded to lead the spread of the developed Retail Lean Operating System across her portfolio of more than 100 locations. Additionally, Karen led a team of coaches responsible for teaching problem solving and mentoring skills to regional executives, directors, and district managers responsible for implementing the lean operating system.
Karen had recently authored the book “Steady Work” which tells the leaders story of implementing and spreading a Lean Operating system and how this enabled the team to support the community as needed during a tragic national event.
