Coaching Your Team on Basic Elements of Personal Leadership

Session Abstract:

The session builds skills for coaching teams on accountability, successful teamwork and letting go of behaviors that get in the way of effective leadership.  This session is structured as a one-day practice session that allows participants to gain insights on personal leadership and gain coaching tools to take away to for future use. The session utilizes skill building for leadership skills with corresponding coaching skills practice, including observation and self reflection for a better learning experience. Building more awareness of key leadership behaviors assists participants In just in time coaching.


Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will learn how to improve their own personal leadership and coach their teams with accountability, teamwork and moving beyond self defeating behaviors.
  • During the session, attendees will develop personalized coaching plans on how to work with their teams.
  • They will also be provided with a customizable assessment, self reflection and coaching tools to use with their teams.


About the Facilitator:

As the author of “Lean Human Resources: Redesigning HR Practices for a Culture of Continuous Improvement”, Ms. Jekiel is committed to building Lean HR as a recognized field of work. Ms Jekiel has held Vice President of Human Resources positions for a number of companies, including Tri-Arrows Aluminum, Inc., FONA International, Inc. and Flying Food Group, LLC. Prior to her recent senior leadership roles in Human Resources, Ms. Jekiel served for five years as the Chief Operating Officer after a number of other leadership roles at a Specialty Bakery in the Chicagoland area. Ms. Jekiel has developed an expertise in Lean manufacturing with a particular focus on Lean cultures. Ms. Jekiel has made countless significant improvements in reducing operating costs and leveraging a Lean culture to obtain new ‘business. She has over 30 years of manufacturing experience.
