Coaching Those Who are Not on Board, in Denial or “Addicted to the Status Quo” and Actively or Passively Resisting Change

Session Abstract:
During this mirco workshop coaches will present, discuss and demonstrate strategies and techniques plus participants will practice techniques used to counsel and/or coach leaders and associates who is not ready to change or be coached.  Every organization has leaders and associates that are vital to the organization, but are not bought into changing their mindset or behavior. This session will focus on assisting people transition through ambivalence. Participants will learn and practice techniques to assist people work through their own resistance.
Learning Objectives

In this workshop participants will learn…

  • Why people do not get on board with the change. AKA “Addicted to the Status Quo”
  • How to assist a person get on board with the change
  • How break down active and passive resistance to change
  • How to recognize what stage of “readiness to change” a person is in and how to meet them where they are.

Facilitator Bio:

Ron Oslin, President of One System One Voice LLC. The coaching team at One System One Voice LLC is a team of retired Toyota sensei that provide counseling and coaching to all levels of leadership. Oslin Retired from Capital One in 2017 where he lead the Lean coaching tem for 10 years. Oslin has more than 20 years of lean application in manufacturing and service. Oslin began his process learning journey in 1982 as an intern with Dr. Edward Deming.  Oslin has applied lean methodologies in printing, auto manufacture, marine heating and air conditioning manufacture, health care, education and banking. Oslin has held roles as CEO, COO, and transformation leader in several organizations. He received is bachelor’s from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
